Little Professor™


Little Professor is a ChatGPT-based AI tool that creates, distributes and grades student tests for any subject and grade level.

Generate Test

If you choose “Generate Test” you are prompted for type of test, subject category, subject details and grade level, and the AI creates the test and saves the test to Microsoft OneDrive.

You can also use Subject Details to provide additional instructions to ChatGPT such as “Convert questions and answers to Spanish”.


Generate an Answer Key and include it in the Test file:

Course Materials to use (Optional):

To create tests, Little Professor can optionally use Course Material you uploaded previously using Course Materials menu item.


Distribute Test

This lets you easily distribute tests to a class of students.

You can view the test, view the answer key, or distribute the test.

You can choose (from drop-down list) to distribute the test to a class of students.

Or, you could print and hand out the test to students, if you do not want to use Little Professor to distribute and grade the tests.


Grade Test

Shows ungraded tests that have been distributed to students, and how many have been completed by students, and lets you grade the tests. If all tests have been graded, this list is empty and the tests show under the Viewed Graded menu.


Grade Non-Distributed Test

For tests that have not been distributed by Little Professor, you can upload these completed tests to Little Professor for Little Professor to grade.

You can upload multiple files at one time by using Ctrl-Click when selecting file names from a folder.

When you first create the test, best to specify the word Response after each question, for example,

1. True or False: The number 15 divided by 5 is 3.

View Graded

You can view graded tests, and see the test results.

You can use "View CSV File" to download a CSV file of the test results. This file can be uploaded to Canvas to update student grades in a selected Course's Gradebook or you can open the file in Excel or another program to process the file in other ways.


Upload Teacher Created Test

If you already have a test you want to use, you can upload this test, instead of having Little Professor create the test. You can also upload an answer key. Little Professor saves the test and any answer key to OneDrive and can distribute and grade the test.

When you create the test, best to specify the word Response after each question, for example,

You can use Subject Details to provide additional instructions to ChatGPT such as “Convert questions and answers to Spanish”.

You can also use test questions to generate Material better tailored to your needs by checking “Use Test Questions to Generate Material” and selecting one or more tests.

You can use the results of graded tests to generate personalized study material for each student by checking “Use Graded Test to Generate Personalized Study Material for Each Student”, selecting a test, and clicking "Generate Material". You will be shown a list of the graded copies of the selected test and can select one for study material generation.

Detail Level:

Is used to create increasingly detailed material from a short summary to several pages of material on your selected subject.


Upload Course Material

You can optionally upload your own course material for Little Professor to use when creating tests or to distribute to your classes.

You can upload multiple files at one time by using Ctrl-Click when selecting file names from a folder.


Once you've created personalized study material for each student or uploaded course material, you can use the "Distribute Study Material" link to distribute the material to a class.


Previously Distributed Materials

Is used to a view a list of all of the Study Material you've created and review which students have received the materials.


Classes

You can create Classes and list the students in each class.

You can use an exported list of students from Canvas to automatically add students to a class. The file can be exported from Canvas by opening a Course, selecting Grades, and then using the Export button. In Little Professor you can then go to the Student List screen for a Class and use the "Choose File" button to select the exported file. and the "Upload File" to process the students from the CSV file. Students must have a First and Last Name and an Email address to be imported. Duplicate students are ignored.

You can purchase a 1 Month or 1 Year subscription to Little Professor. You can also manage your subscription.

The Model setting controls which version of ChatGPT is used to create course materials. The default is Model 3.5 which is faster. You can change the model to Model 4.0 for more in depth results.
